Research Statement

Recent research includes network attack/defense modeling and simulation, graph analytics, and graph visualization for information security. Also proposed a new framework for multimedia authenticity protection, based on independent component analysis. Work in low bitrate video compression led to approach that adaptively allocates larger numbers of bits to more important regions of video. Also developed robust signal processing and target detection for radar applying neural networks with wavelet features. Made innovations in combinatorial optimization for optimal target assignment. Described properties of a new class of wavelet filters, and contributed in the area of electro-optics. Also described neural network pattern recognition for medical signals.
