CSIS to continue administering DoD Cybersecurity Scholarship Program

CSIS will continue administering the Cybersecurity Scholarship Program, formerly known as the Information Assurance Scholarship Program, to increase the number of students enrolling in academic programs in the fields of information assurance, information technology and cybersecurity, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Currently, there is an increasing need for cybersecurity professionals and a shortage of qualified candidates to fill open positions.

The Department of Defense Cybersecurity Scholarship Program (CySP) is key to remedying this, as it can provide Mason with critical resources not otherwise readily available.

Sushil Jajodia, director of the Center for Secure Information Systems, Massimiliano Albanese, associate director of the center, Ioulia Rytikova, associate chair for graduate studies, Information Sciences and Technology, and Khondkar Islam, associate chair for undergraduate studies, Information Sciences and Technology, received $159,612 from the National Security Agency for this program. This funding runs from August 2018 through August 2019.
